VANAVIHAROTSAVA
Namaskara:
What a great way to spend a relaxing day with your fellow Kannadigas at the KCA Picnic. We hope all of you enjoyed the program as much as we did. A record 250 KCA members participated in various games. Of course, the Halasinna hannu and Ella Neeru were a hit. We would like to once again congratulate the 12 high school graduates and their families. We hope to make the recognition of our graduates and their families an annual tradition. Please let us know what you liked about the program and how you think we can improve.
We owe a special thanks to Jagannath Shankam and Soma Somashekar for coordinating the picnic. Over the past several weeks they, along with Jagadish Gundarahalli coordinated several sporting events including Cricket, Table Tennis, Carrom and Chess. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the sports. Tennis and Bridge will be held over the next few weeks. In addition to the coordinators, the success of the event was due to the volunteers. A special thanks to Mrs Prema and Mr B. Nagaraj for the Majjige, Rajeshwari Kadur for the churmuri.
Thanks once again to all the volunteers, members and kids for your participation.
Moving on, our next event will be the Samoohika Ganesha Pooja on Sunday, Sept. 19th at the Jain Temple in Buena Park. We are seeking sponsorship at the $500 (Facilitiy) and the $250 level (Pooja Samagri). Please come forward to sponsor this program. We would like to especially thank Meena and Arun Madhav for their generous donation of $2,000 sponsorship of the Ganesh Pooja. We will be sending more details about the Ganesh Pooja program shortly. In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments, please contact me at ksommd@gmail.com or one of the directors.
With Regards
Kavitha Kotrappa, MD
