Greetings from FICCI !
We are pleased to share that FICCI’s Diaspora Division is partnering on another Diaspora engagement project, with Overseas Indian Affairs (OIA) Division of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This is known as the “Know India Programme” (KIP), wherein 30-40 youth (18-26 years of age) of Indian origin are invited to India, for understanding our cultural, economic & social dynamics. They typically spend about 25 days in Delhi and one of the Indian States. Ministry has already written to all the Indian Missions overseas to support this program.
We have currently been mandated by MEA to conduct such programs over the next one year, starting May 2016, for which Maharashtra is our Partner State. The proposed schedule for May 2016 and June-August is enclosed. The guidelines for these programs are also enclosed and give you more details towards this all-expense paid trip to India.
As a quick background, the objective of this program is to expose Indian origin youth overseas, to India’s social & economic progress. These youth have usually not visited India before. As a process, the Indian Mission overseas receives all applications, as per enclosed format and ratifies for their eligibility, for MEA’s consideration.
We would like to invite participation in this program from your members / their wards. As mentioned above, the Indian Mission in your country, will be recommending all the registrations for MEA to consider.
Looking forward to your support, in mobilizing local Diaspora youth for this program, especially for May-August 2016. For any queries, please feel free to write to the undersigned or Ms Manjeet Kaur (Mobile : 9811817846, Email : email@example.com).
Thanks and regards,
Asst. Secretary General
